Aikosha | India AI Compute Portal & Dataset Platform Update | India AI Compute Portal and Dataset Platform AI Fund Launch

Central IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav launched India AI Comput Portal and Dataset Platform AI Fund in New Delhi. The AI Kosh Sovereign Dataset platform will help develop and train the Indian AI model.

Whereas India AI can access researchers, startups and government agencies, research and subsidized GPUS through computable portal. The government has fixed the GPUS subsidy rate of about Rs 67 per hour. About 10,000 GPUS have been made live for this.

Along with this, Ashwini Vaishnav has announced to create AI data lab in 27 cities under India AI Mission. These labs will be used for research and development in AI.

Ashwini Vaishnav said- India will join the top 5 tech nation

Vaishnav said that India will develop its own GPU in the next 3-4 years. He said that India will join the top 5 tech countries in areas like AI, Semiconductor and Dippatak in the coming time.

18,693 GPUS will be installed under India AI Mission

In March 2023, the cabinet approved a budget of Rs 10,371.92 crore for the India AI mission. In this, about 18,693 graphics processing unit i.e. GPUS will be installed from 45% funds. This will lead to the world’s largest compute infrastructure development, which will be 9 times larger than the Chinese AI model Deep Seak.

Research companies will be able to access computing resources through all these GPUs. The lowest bidding companies have been selected for these GPUs. 15,000 GPU is already available through Yotta data services, E2E networks, Tata Communications and AWS managed service providers.

At the same time, the remaining 4,000 GPUs are to be purchased and it is expected that companies like Jio platforms and CTRLS datasters will acquire them.

High-end models like 12,896 Gpus Nvidia H100 The GPUS to be planted has high-end models like 12,896 NVidia H100. It will include 1,480 H200 GPUS models. While 30% GPUS belong to low capacity or of Older Generation. 9,216 GPU is expected to contribute the biggest contribution in computable capacity through yotta data services.

AWS 1,200 to supply lower-end GPU

Apart from this, AWS will supply 1,200 lower -end GPU through its four managed service providers – CMS Computer, Lokuz Enterprise Solutions, Orient Technologies and Vansisco Technologies. Which includes 800 AWS infectionia 2 and 400 trainium 1 chips.

The Jio platforms will make 208 NVDia H200 GPUS and 104 AMD Mi300x GPUS available. Also, a plan has been made to submit revised lower beads for additional GPUS in the next panel process on 30 April.

Government promotes AI The Government of India has also intensified its efforts to create a domestic artificial intelligence model. The government’s campaign to achieve the new GPU aims to equip researchers and startups with computing power required to make AI models, which serve as the core of AI-Power Chatbot such as Chatgpt and Gemini.
