Washington/Copenhagen, Ever since Donald Trump came to power in America, he has been eyeing Greenland. Trump wants to make Greenland a part of America and is engaged in increasing pressure on it. Meanwhile, US Vice President JD Vance is about to reach Greenland. On Friday, he will visit an American military base in Greenland. This will increase the pressure on Denmark. Earlier, a plan for Vance's wife Usha's visit to Greenland was revealed, on which Denmark was enraged. This week Usha Vance will arrive on a journey. Apart from this, there may also be a separate visit to Trump's National Security Advisor Mike Waltz. Denmark Prime Minister Mete Frederickson criticized Usha Vance's plan, after which the news of JD Vance's visit has come out a few hours later.

Vance said in a video on Tuesday, 'There was so much curiosity about Usha's visit to Greenland that I thought I would not let her enjoy so much, so I will also go with her.' Since returning to power in January, Trump has insisted that he wants to capture Greenland for national security. He did not even refuse to use force for this. In his video announcement, Vance said that other countries want to use the region to threaten the people of America, Canada and Greenland. Trump has also recently talked about capturing Canada, saying that it should become a '51th state' of the United States.

What did Denmark say
Vance said, “Speaking on behalf of President Trump, we want to revive the safety of the people of Greenland.” He said that American and Danish leaders have ignored Greenland for a very long time. We think that we can take things in a different direction. According to the outgoing Prime Minister of Greenland, Mute Egade, US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz will also visit Greenland this week, while US media reported that Energy Secretary Chris Right will also go there. These tours have been described as private, due to which the leaders of Danish and Greenland are angry. Frederickson told reporters, 'You cannot hold a private tour with the official representatives of another country'.

This tour is happening at a time when there is a political upheaval in Greenland. Here the parties are talking to form a new coalition government after the March 11 general election. Fredericksson said, 'This is not clearly not a tour that is about the needs or desires of Greenland. Therefore, I have to say that in this situation the pressure being put on Greenland and Denmark is unacceptable. And this is the pressure that we will oppose.

Why America wants Greenland
Greenland has huge unused minerals and oil reserves, although there is a ban on the discovery of oil and uranium. It is strategically located between North America and Europe. Sea routes have opened due to climate change, due to which the interest of America, China and Russia is increasing in Arctic. The outgoing government of Greenland posted on Facebook that it has not sent any invitation for any tour, whether it is private or official. After winning the election, Greenland's potential new Prime Minister-Jens-Frederick Nielsen criticized Trump's moves on Greenland and described it as 'unfair'.
