New Delhi. The Committee of Administrators (COA) on Tuesday said that they are surprised by the unfortunate decision of FIFA on the All India Football Federation after reaching close to issues such as elections and constitution structures. FIFA suspended the All India Football Federation (AIFF) on Tuesday, citing non-essential intervention by third party, and snatched the rights of the Under-17 Women's World Cup to be held in October, citing non-essential intervention by third party.

The COA said in a statement, “COA is surprised that FIFA's decision has come at a time when there was a deep conversation between all parties including FIFA, AFC, AIFF, COA and Ministry of Sports as per the Supreme Court order.” It said, “It said,” COA AIFF's election related to the Honorable Supreme Court is committed to follow the order of 3 August 2022 and all parties were committed

It further said, “It was suggested in a conversation between all the parties for the last few days to make the current elections of the AIFF Executive Committee with the voter list of representatives of 36 states.”

The COA said in the statement, “FIFA also suggested through the Sports Ministry that the Executive Committee could have 23 members including six experienced players. The six players should have four men and two women and 17 members will be elected to voters. Nominations can be nominated by the Executive Committee and they will also have the right to vote.

The statement said, “In view of this, COA is surprised by FIFA's decision to ban Indian football while conversation was going on to find the best solution to the case.”
