Fact Check: Donald Trump has not changed the picture of Lincoln at the Oval office with the picture of Rabbi Menchem Mendel Shanerson. The viral picture is digitally edited.

Claim: A picture of the Wall Street Journal has been digitally edited and the face of a Jewish leader has been put on the picture of Lincoln.
Fact check: Social media users have broadcast a picture of the Oval Office. It claimed that US President Donald Trump has replaced the picture of Abraham Lincoln with a picture of Jewish leader Rabbi Menchem Mendel Shanerson.
Shanerson, also known as Lubwitcher Rebey, was the seventh leader of the 18th-century Jewish movement, Chabad-Lubavich movement in Russia. In the viral picture, the US President's flag, American flag, American space force flag and Lincoln statue are seen on the table with a picture of Shanerson on the wall.
A X user shared the picture with the caption and wrote, “Breaking: Donald Trump has changed the picture of Abraham Lincoln painted by Edward Dalton Merchant in 1863 with the picture of Chabad Lubawich Rebey Mendel Shanerson. That's it for whom I voted!” By the time this news was written, this post had received more than 2,100 likes and 460 reposts.

However, we found that the image has been replaced digitally to put Schunarson's face on Lincoln's picture in the Oval Office.
What did you get in the fact check?
On searching the reverse image, we found the original image published by Wall Street Journal on our Instagram account. This photo (stored here) posted on January 21, 2025, is given to WSJ photographer Shuran Huang and it clearly shown a picture of Lincoln in the office. It was also shown in the WSJ report of January 20, 2025, in which the office re -discussion was discussed after Trump's inauguration day.
