Washington: Donald Trump on Sunday sent hundreds of alleged Venezuela gang members from America to Al Salvador jail. A federal judge in the US was temporarily banned by a federal judge under the 18th -century warfare powers, but Trump refused to accept these orders directly. This is the most latest conflict between the judiciary and the white house in the US. When the court ordered a temporary ban on the exile of 200 alleged gang members, the aircraft had already flew. According to the report of Exios, when the Trump administration was accused of disregarding the court order, the officials said that the aircraft was already in the international water sector. Trump's critic National Security Advocate Mark S Zaid wrote on X that Trump may eventually face impeachment.
Trump had announced the use of the 18th century law to expedite exile. A few hours later, the 'US District Judge' James E Boseberg issued an order to stop it on Saturday, but the lawyers told them that two aircraft had taken the migrants to Al Salvador and Honduras earlier. Boseberg gave a verbal order to return the aircraft but obviously it was not done and this instruction was not included in the written order of the judge.
What did the white house say?
Caroline Levitt, the press secretary of the US President's official residence and office 'White House', on Sunday, replied to speculation in a statement whether the administration is violating the court orders. He said, 'The administration did not refuse to follow the court order. This order has no legal basis and it was released after 'TDA' was already removed from the US region. TDA refers to the 'Train de Aragua' gang which was targeted by Trump in the announcement released on Saturday.
18th century law used
Announcing the use of the 18th century law, the Trump administration said on Saturday that a gang of Venezuela is attacking the US and the administration has new powers to get its members out of the country. Trump announced the implementation of the 1798 'Alien Animes Act' (Foreign Enemy Act), claiming that Venezuela's gang 'Train de Aragua' was attacking America. This Act gives the President a comprehensive exemption regarding policy and executive action to expedite a large scale in exile in exile.
In American history, this act has been used only three times so far and that too was done only during the war. Earlier it was used during World War II. At that time, it was used to imprison German and Italian people as well as to collectively under arrest of Japanese-American nationals.
