Washington: The relations between the US and South Africa have worsened. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced on Friday that the US had expelled South African Ambassador Ibrahim Rasool. He called Rasool a 'racist leader' and said that he hates America and former President Donald Trump. The roots of this diplomatic tension are in the decisions of Trump administration. Trump cut US financial aid to South Africa. At the same time, he expressed strong displeasure over the land policy of South Africa and his massacre case against Israel in the International Court of Israel.
Rubio said on the social media platform X, “South African Ambassador to the United States is no longer welcome. We have nothing to talk to them, so they are considered an unwanted person.”
South Africa's Ambassador to the united states is no longer welcome in our great country.
Ebrahim rasool is a race-baiting politics who hams america and hates @Potus,
We have noting to discus with him and so he is considered persona non grata.https://t.co/mnunwgoqdx
