L&T chairman SN Subrahmanyan has given a big update before International Women's Day. He has announced a paid period leave to women every month.

During the Women's Day celebrations at L&T, the company's chairman SN Subrahmanyan has announced a period leave for a day to women employees for the first time. The company informed this announcement at the ceremony held at Powai Office. Prior to online food delivery company Zomato, Swiggy and Bayju Company are being given period leave before L&T.
Apart from this, government women employees get period leaves in Bihar, Kerala, Sikkim. Women of government and private companies in Odisha get period leaves.

The L&T has a total of 60,000 employees and the number of women's employees is 5,000, which is 9 per cent of the total workforce. However, this leave policy does not include a company associated with financial and technology services like L&T's non-construction and non-engineering business. This is because these businesses have the facility to work from home, while the operation of the main L&T has a work from office policy.
