People in India will soon be able to use the Made India web browser. This browser will develop Indian software company Joho Corporation. This browser will compete with big players like Google and Microsoft.
The Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology announced this on Thursday (20 March). The Ministry had organized a competition called 'Indian Web Browser Development Challenge' with the aim of developing indigenous web browser, in which Joho Corporation has won the first prize. For this, Joho has got a price of Rs 1 crore.
At the same time, the team was second in the competition and the team Ajna was third. Team Ping will get Rs 75 lakh and Team Ajna will get Rs 50 lakh. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav gave a check of price money to all the winners. During this, he said that, it was happy to see that the winners in this challenge are coming from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

What will be the specialty of browser, data security: This browser will be under the supervision of the government and the data of the country will remain in the country. Data privacy: Made India Browser will follow the Data Privacy Act. Users' data will be safe All the devices will run: This browser will run on iOS, Windows and Android all operating systems.
Google's 88.7% stake in browsing American companies occupy the Internet browsing used in India. Google Chrome is most commonly used in these. Google Chrome holds 88.7% stake in the Indian market with around 850 million users. This is followed by Apple Safari (5.2%), Microsoft Edge (2%), Samsung browser (1.5%) and Mozilla share 1.28%stake.
