Manchester. Cristiano Ronaldo returned to the early XI but despite this, Manchester United had to face 1-0 defeat to Real Sociedad in its first match of the Europea League football tournament. Star striker Ronaldo was unable to transfer to any club in the Champions League and hence he was forced to play in the second -grade tournament of Europe for the first time since 2002.
Ronaldo was last included in the early XI in the English Premier League match on 13 August. After this, he was fielded as a substantial player in four matches. United won these four matches.
