Earlier, Punjab Kings scored 236 for 5 wickets with the help of a half -century of young opener Prabhasimran Singh (91 runs). The batsman of this little height hit six fours and seven sixes in a 48 -ball innings, putting brilliant shots. Apart from him, captain Shreyas Iyer contributed 45 runs and Josh English contributed 30 runs. Punjab's wicketkeeper-batsman Prabhasimran missed nine runs on scoring his second century in the IPL when Digvesh Rathi's switch hit to the pavilion. In the end, Shashank Singh scored an unbeaten 33 off 15 balls to bring the team to this score. In the innings of Punjab Kings, there were 16 sixes, out of which 13 were on the fast bowlers.

Half a dozen sixes hit Mayank Yadav who took 60 runs in his four overs. Akash Singh and Digvesh Rathi took two wickets for LSG. Prince Yadav got one wicket. LSG batsmen will have to bat well to reach this goal. LSG, while starting well, sent Priyansh Arya (01) to the pavilion, who gave easy catch to Mayank Yadav at a deep backward point on the outswinger of left -arm fast bowler Akash Singh. Prabhasimran was initially doing well with Australian batsman Jose English, who hit a hat -trick of sixes off Mayank Yadav's balls.

After the English dismissal, Prabhasimran, along with captain Iyer, shared a 78 -run partnership in 7.5 overs. During this time, he got a lot of help from the fielding of Avesh Khan, which would probably be considered the worst fieldingman in the 18 -year history of the IPL. Prabhasimran hit two consecutive sixes on this fast bowler of Madhya Pradesh due to long stature. Avesh Khan conceded 57 runs in four overs. But due to their poor fielding, the team gave about 15 runs to Punjab Kings. At the same time, Rathi became the first spinner to take the wicket of the Punjab Kings captain in the current session. But Prabhasimran continued batting with passion and missed nine runs on a century.
