A detailed discussion on this subject was discussed in the session called “crisp -stricken democracy” held in the Ideaspod of Firstpost. In this session organized by the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) as a part of the annual Raisina dialogue organized in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs, experts highlighted Trump's influence and future in American politics.

Trump's return: Is it a failure of democracy?
The session, run by the Vice President of the ORF Gautam Chikramane, was attended by Jane Hall Loot, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, SICPA, United States, and Max Abraham, Associate Professor of Political Sciences, Northeastern University, US,. Initiating the discussion, Chikramane questioned the impacts on American politics of Trump's return.
He said that even though Trump got less votes than majority, he had the support of about half of American voters. According to him, the US is deeply divided and the importance of traditional political ideologies is decreasing. This divided voter class promotes political instability, but any concrete action hinders.
Trump vs Establishment: A political earthquake
While Trump's rise was a challenge for the Republican party on the one hand, on the other hand also a means of beating Democrats. Abrahams agreed that Trump's Udaya has brought a big change in the Republican Party.
