New Delhi: Everything is not going well in the IPL for Rajasthan Royals. The first team lost the match by a big margin of 58 runs from Gujarat Titans on the night of 9 April. After this, the team captain Sanju Samson has been fined Rs 24 lakh for a slow over speed.

Sanju Samson had to pay a fine for violation of the IPL code of conduct and this was the second time when RR maintained a slow over speed this year. Earlier, acting captain Ryan Parag was fined Rs 12 lakh after the match against Chennai Super Kings.

The IPL media release said, 'The rest of the members of the playing XI, including the impact player, will be fined either six lakh rupees or 25 percent of their respective match fees, whichever is less.' Sanju Samson admitted that his team allowed the important opportunities to go by hand. As a result, Rajasthan was reduced to just 159 runs in 19.2 overs, chasing the target of 218 runs.
