BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia told PTI, “This is quite unfortunate. This is a negative aspect of popularity. People are crazy for their cricketers. The organizers should have planned better. My senses towards the families of the deceased. I wish the injured to recover early. To organize this level of victory, enough precautions should have been taken and security measures were to be taken into account. Somewhere there has been a lapse somewhere.
Saikia said, “There were 120000 spectators at the stadium during the IPL final in Ahmedabad yesterday, but the BCCI team along with the local district administration and police had ensured the safety of the audience.”
