Washington: Some US MPs are preparing to take strict steps against Russia, which can increase India's tension. The restrictions will be imposed only when Russia does not make permanent peace with Ukraine. According to the proposal, it is proposed to impose 500 percent tariffs on countries buying oil, gas and uranium from Russia. This proposal has been supported by 50 MPs, which shows that America is in a mood to teach Russia a lesson. But this can be bad news for countries like India. This is because India buys a lot of oil from Russia.

There are two types of restrictions in this proposal. First, a direct ban on Russia, so that its economy gets hurt. Second, the country who will buy oil, gas or other things from Russia, will also get punishment. America will impose 500 percent tariff on them. MPs say that Russia is attacking Ukraine and it is necessary to stop it. The senators said, “We are with Trump, who want to end this battle, but Putin is deferring.”

Why is there tension for India?
This proposal of American MPs has not passed yet. US President Trump is currently engaged in stopping the Ukraine-Russia war, so there is little possibility that the US will take any such step against Russia. But if this proposal is approved, then the price of oil in India can touch the sky. Currently India buys the most oil from Russia. Crude oil imports from Russia increased by 11 percent compared to February, which is 16.6 lakh barrels per day. After the tariff on Russia, India will have to increase its dependence on Gulf countries under compulsion. It can increase the price of oil all over the world. However, the special thing is that the import of crude oil from the US has increased by 67 percent compared to February.
