New Delhi. Before leaving for England on a difficult tour, Indian team Test captain Rohit Sharma and star batsman Virat Kohli announced his retirement from the Test. The selectors chose Shubman Gill as captain for this tour. Before leaving for England, coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Shubman Gill spoke to the media. Gill has said that it will be difficult for the Indian team to fill the big places vacant due to the departure of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. The team has power and assured to perform well in the upcoming five -match Test series.

Gill added, “It's not a matter of extra pressure because we are always ready to handle pressure as a team and know how to win from such circumstances,”
The Indian star batsman is expected to bat at number 3 for India. Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul will start the innings but Gill will be eyeing everyone because their batting figures are not good abroad. There was a lot of debate on handing over the captaincy to Gill. Especially seeing his performance abroad, but Bumrah clearly told the selectors that they would not be available for all five matches, so the management had to focus on Gill which is expected to play the entire series.
