New Delhi. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has set a deadline for Aadhaar card holders to update its information online by June 14, 2025. After this date, the fee will be charged to update and the Aadhaar enrollment center will have to go to the center. According to Aadhaar enrollment and update regulations, 2016, every Kisi is required to update his identity proof (POI) and address evidence (POA) documents every ten years from the date of their Aadhaar enrollment.
This regular update helps to maintain the integrity and accuracy of the base database, which ensures easily access to many government services and benefits.
Important information and necessary documents
How to be documents: The portal accepts JPEG, PNG and PDF files only, which should be 2MB, the maximum size.
Biometric update: For changes in your photo, fingerprints or other biometric data, it is mandatory to go to the nearest base enrollment center.

Document for Identity Proof (POI): Passport, Driving License, PAN Card, Voter ID, Government ID Card (eg residence certificate), marksheet, marriage certificate, ration card.
Acceptable documents for address evidence (POA): Bank statement (not older than 3 months), electricity or gas bill (not older than 3 months), passport, marriage certificate, ration card, property tax receipt (not older than 1 year), government ID card.
Time limit missing results
If you did not update your Aadhaar details by 14 June 2025, then for any update in future you have to go to the Aadhaar enrollment center and pay a fee of Rs 50. Timely updating not only saves expenses, but can also avoid possible inconveniences related to old information.

Step-step guide to update base details online
Follow these steps to avail free online updates before the deadline of June 14:
1. visit the official UIDAI website.
2. Click on the 'Login' button and enter your 12-declaration Aadhaar number and shown captcha code. An OTP (one-time password) will be sent to your registered mobile number for verification.
3. After login, review your existing POI and POA documents. If the update is needed, select the 'Document Update' option available on the dashboard.
4. Select documents related to the drop-down menu and upload a copy of a clean scan. Ensure that the files are in JPEG, PNG, or PDF format and are not more than 2MB.
5. After uploading, review the details and submit your request. You will get a service request number (SRN) to track the status of your update.
