Volkswagen India is preparing to launch golf GTI premium hatchback and Tigwan R-line full size SUV in the Indian market. German company director Ashish Gupta said that both cars will be launched by the second quarter (April-June) of 2025 this year. Both cars will get features like Level-2 Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS) for safety.
The estimated price of golf GTI can be Rs 52 lakh. It will compete with Mini Cooper in India. Tigwan R-line can be launched at a price of Rs 55 lakh. It will compete with Jeep Compass and Hyundai Tuson. In India, they will be imported and sold as Complete Built Unit (ie fully made).
Volkswagen Golf GTI Designs and Features
Exterior design
Golf GTI has been given an aggressive design with twin-pod LED headlights. Star shape in the front of the car has 5 LED fog light units. The bumper has slits for Air Intake that gives the car a stylish look.
18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels can be seen in the car. Outside rearview mirrors are expected to be found on the front doors. The car rear has a raparound LED tail lights and agressive design bumper. The bumper has an exhaust outlet on both sides. A red colored GTI badge has been given in the front and side and rear of the car.
Golf GTI: Interior Design Features & Safety
All-black cabin theme can be given in golf GTI. Dual displays can be given with plastic panels in layered dashboard design. Sports seats will be given in front roe with electronic adjustability and heating function.
The car is expected to be given features like 12.9 inch touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, 3-zone auto AC, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, heads-up display and ambient lighting. 6 airbags, tire pressure monitoring systems will be given for safety, disclosure on four wheels.
Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS) can be given with adaptive cruise control and auto emergency braking.
engine Golf GTI will have a 2.0-liter petrol turbocharged inline-4 engine that generates 261 HP and 370 Nm of torque. A 7-speed DSG automatic dual-clutch support will be provided in the transmission. The car can hold a speed of 0-100 kmph in 5.9 seconds. Its top speed is 250 kmph.
Tigwan r-line design and features

The car will get twin-pod LED headlights and DRL strips. The headlights have been connected to the gloss black trim. Air Intake channels are given in diamond shape on the front bumper. The car will get dual-tone 20-inch alloy wheels, outside rearview Mirrors Turn Indicators and Roof Rails. In the rear of the car, LED tail lights and tailgates connected with pixelized elements are provided.
The car length is 4,539 mm, height 1,639 mm, width 1,842 mm. Its wheelbase is 2,680 mm.
Interior Design, Safety and Features
The car has an all-black cabin theme with dashboard and dashboard on doors and blue accent designs on doors. The dashboard has a long lighting element strip.
Talking about the feature, the car has a 12.9-inch touchscreen, digital driver display and a 3-spoke steering wheel. The car has wireless phone charger, panoramic sunroof, heads-up display and electronic adjustment as well as Heated front seats.
The car has 6 airbags, tire pressure monitoring systems, disc brakes and electronic parking brakes on all wheels for safety. Some advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) features such as lane keep assist, forward collision soils and adaptive cruise control can also be provided in the car.
engine The Tigwan R-line can be given a 2.0-liter petrol engine that generates 190hp and 320 Nm of torque. A 7-speed DST transmission can be given in the car. The car will also have a 4 motion all-wheel drive system.
