New Delhi. Alan Musk's company X (first Twitter) has filed a case against the Government of India. Actually, this matter is about 'Cooperation Portal'. Cooperation portal is a government platform, which law enforcement agencies use social media companies to seek information. The X says that the government is seeking a lot of and non-essential information from them through this portal, which is affecting their privacy and freedom.

The X has said in the court that this move of the government may put the privacy of their users in danger. The company claims that the demands of the government violate Article 19 (1) (a) and 21 of the Indian Constitution, which guarantees freedom of expression and right to life. It will be interesting to see what the court's decision in this case will be. But it is clear that the conflict between social media companies and the government over data and confidentiality is increasing.

What is Sahyog Portal?
Cooperation portal is an initiative to increase cooperation between government agencies and social media platforms to make a safe cyberspace. Its purpose is to make the process of reporting and removal of illegal content online, as well as managing data requests of law enforcement agencies. This portal helps the authorized agencies of central and state governments to deal with cyber crime in collaboration with social media platforms.

The biggest challenge in adopting the cooperation portal is coming from the country's popular social media platform X. The special thing is that 38 other intermediates including Meta, WhatsApp, Apple, Amazon, Telegram and Instagram have already been onboard, while 15 intermediates are in process. It has also been learned that the process of including cryptocurrency exchanges is also going on.
